Kailia Posey (born 19 April 2006 – died 03 May 2022; Aged: 16 years old) was a well-known actress, model, gymnast, contortionist, social media personality, and reality show star from Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. She was the first child of Nina Posey and Christopher “CJ” Posey. Kailia died on May 3rd 2022 at age 16 due to complications from a rare form of cancer called osteosarcoma.

She was an actress known for her role as Trixie in The Hollywood Undead: Blood Money.

Posey moved to Los Angeles where she landed roles in commercials and television shows such as “Modern Family” and “Awkward.” She also appeared in the film adaptation of “Wonder Woman” alongside Gal Gadot, Chris Pine and Connie Nielsen. In 2016, Posey signed on with IMG Models.

Kailia Posey died on Saturday after suffering from a rare disease called hypersensitivity pneumonitis, her mother, Teri McCullough said.

The 16-year-old was rushed to hospital after developing an acute respiratory infection. She died on Tuesday night, McCullough told People magazine.

McCullough said she believes the teen contracted the illness after attending a party over the weekend that included dancing, drinking and smoking marijuana. “She was such a beautiful young woman who had so much love in her heart,” McCullough told People. “No matter what, Kailia always put others before herself.”

A representative for Kailia’s family told ABC News that she had been admitted to a hospital in New Jersey for an eating disorder earlier this month and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

The Santa Clarita, Calif., teenager died from a “suspected overdose of an unknown substance” located at her parents’ Alvord Lake home, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release Thursday.

The cause and manner of Posey’s death will be determined by an autopsy and toxicology report performed by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, authorities said.

Posey was 16 years old at the time of her death. She was featured on TLC’s “Toddlers & Tiaras” from 2011 to 2012 alongside her twin sister Kaili Gattermann and their mother Marcy Posey Gattermann. The reality show documented the girls’ lives as they competed in beauty pageants while also dealing with issues such as bullying and domestic violence.

 The news was confirmed and shared by Posey’s mother. Marcy Posey Gattermann.  On Facebook early on Monday, in a post that read: “I don’t have words or any thoughts. A beautiful baby girl is gone.”

She added: “Please give us privacy as we mourn the loss of Kailia. My baby forever.”

While Gattermann did not share the cause behind her daughter’s untimely death. Reports online suggest that Posey was killed in a car crash in Las Vegas.

The 16-year-old Whatcom High School student was found dead in her home Monday morning, according to the Bellingham Police Department.

Kailia was a star on Toddlers & Tiaras, a reality show that follows children with their parents through beauty pageants and other competitions. She won the title of Miss Whatcom 2015 at age 11. Her pageant coach said she had been struggling with mental illness since she was 8 years old.
