What is Indian Medical Visa?
E-Medical Visa for India is an online travel permit for foreign nationals who wish to seek medical treatment in the country. A medical allows Indian visa holders to enter the country a total of 3 times.
An e-medical visa is a short-term visa for medical treatment. This type of visa is issued only to patients, not family members. Blood relatives can get a medical attendant visa along with e-medical visa holders.
As a patient receiving treatment in another country, the last thought on your mind should be the loops that you have to go through to get your visa. Especially in some emergency situations where emergency medical care is required, going to the embassy of that country will be quite an obstacle so that you can go to that country for treatment to get a visa. This is why it is so helpful that the Government of India has made available an electronic e-visa, especially for international visitors who have come to the country for medical purposes. You can apply online for a medical visa for India instead of going to the local Indian embassy in your country to get it for your visit to India.
Indian Medical Visa Application
Indian medical visa can only be obtained on medical grounds and only those international travelers who come here as a patient for medical treatment can apply for this visa. Family members of the patient who wish to accompany the patient will not be eligible to enter the country through a medical e-visa. Instead, they have to apply for a medical attendant visa for India. For any purpose other than medical, such as tourism or business, you need to ask for a specific e-visa for that purpose.
You must apply for a medical visa in India at least 4-7 days before the date of your flight or entry into the country. Although you do not need to go to the Indian embassy for a medical e-visa for India, you should make sure that your passport has two blank pages for stamping the immigration officer at the airport. Like other e-visas, holders of Indian medical visas have to enter the country through authorized immigration check posts which have 28 airports and 5 seaports and the holder has to exit the authorized immigration check posts.
Indian Medical Attendant Visa
International visitors traveling to India for medical purposes can apply for an e-visa for their travel called medical e-visa. But the more helpful this simple procedure is, the less likely they are to go to another country for treatment alone. They will probably have family members with them who can take care of them and support them before and after treatment. These family members can apply for an electronic visa or e-visa specifically meant for them to enter the country while they are with the visitor. The Government of India has provided Indian Medical Attendant Visas for the family members of visitors who come to the country as patients for treatment. You can apply for a Medical Attendant e-Visa in India online to collect it instead of going to the local Indian Embassy in your country.
You can apply for a Medical Attendant Visa for India only if you are traveling with someone who has already applied or has applied for an Indian Medical Visa and is receiving treatment in India. Only 2 medical attendant visas are granted as opposed to one medical visa, which means that only two persons with the patient who have already collected or applied for a medical visa will be eligible to travel to India.
