Wario64

Wario’s most distinguishing physical feature is his large belly. This was caused by overeating too much garlic, one of his favorite foods. Wario64 also has a yellow and purple outfit, complete with a pair of purple overalls, which he wears most of the time.

Who is Wario?

Wario is a fictional character in Nintendo’s Wario64 series. He debuted as an antagonist in the 1992 game Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. He has appeared in various spin-offs of the Mario series, as well as in a number of Mario sports games. 

Wario’s name is a portmanteau of Mario’s name and the Japanese word warui, meaning “bad.” In contrast to Mario, Wario64 is obese, greedy, and lacks hygiene. He owns his own company, WarioWare Inc., which develops video games that he stars in. In Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, Wario finds a powerful artifact called the Super Star. While most of the game involves him trying to keep it from Mario, at the end he uses it to become invincible and defeat the game’s final boss. Wario has appeared as a playable character in every Super Smash Bros. game to date.

Wario’s personality is in stark contrast to that of Mario. He is greedy, selfish, and obese, often resorting to cheating and underhanded tactics to get what he wants. In spite of this, Wario is not completely evil, and has been known to help Mario and his friends on occasion. He also has a soft spot for those he cares about, as seen in Wario Land: Shake It! when he risks his life to save Captain Syrup from falling to her death.

The game Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, he takes over Wario64 castle and demands that the citizens of Mario Land pay him taxes. Wario World, he finds a black jewel that corrupts him and turns him into the game’s final boss. In the animated series The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, Wario is constantly trying to scheme against and outwit Mario in order to steal his money or defeat him in some other way.
