1. Install Open Video Downloader

2. Go to the YouTube video you want to download in a web browser.
The website http://www.youtube.com/ provides an easy way to search for videos on any topic, with filters and keywords. The results from a search for a keyword or phrase are displayed in a grid or list view, depending on which type of result you have chosen. You can choose to view the videos according to any of the following categories: Top Rated, Most
Viewed, Latest Uploads, or Newest Uploads. You can also select from one of two categories for the type of video you want to find: “Videos from the web” or “Videos uploaded by users”. The latter category is the most useful for finding new videos. The “From the web” category includes videos from YouTube’s partners and other video websites that are not uploaded by users. I’m currently using this to find videos about how to make my own home-made laundry soap, but it could be used for many other topics.
3. Copy the video’s URL.
Copy the video’s URL to paste it into a website and share. The website will play the video and you will get the URL of the video’s embedded code.
If you are using Windows, the video is played directly from the browser. If you are using macOS, Safari or Chrome, click on the Share button in the top right corner of the video player. A menu will open. Click on Copy Shortcut. Click on the Open website… button. Paste the URL of the video’s embed code into the box and press Enter. You can also copy the video’s URL and share the link to your friends. The video will be played directly from the browser.
4. Start the Open Video Downloader app.
Go to YouTube.com and search for the video you want to download. Once the video plays, click the Download Video link in the bottom right corner. If you don’t see this link, make sure you’ve clicked on the play button for the video before hitting “Download.”
If you’re using Safari, go to YouTube.com and open the video in a new tab. Then, copy the URL from the address bar (the website will say something like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nX0KjLsVQGQ) and paste it into your browser’s download box. If you’re using Chrome, go to YouTube.com and open the video in a new tab. Then, press CTRL+C to copy the URL, and go to your downloads folder.
5. Right-click the address bar and select paste
If you want to copy a web address to your clipboard, right-click the address bar and select “Paste” from the menu that appears. Then just click to navigate to your destination.
This is a great way to cut down on typing, and also to be able to copy links more easily. If you have a keyboard shortcut for this, then make sure you set it up in System Settings > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Navigation. You can even set up a keyboard shortcut that will open your bookmarks in a new window. This way you can access your bookmarks without having to switch between windows.
